Who We Are
The Atlanta church of Christ is a group of holy people, called out of the world by the gospel. We strive our best to practice pre-denominational Christianity. More than anything, our goal is to exalt and glorify Jesus Christ in all that we do; in our individual lives, our families, our community, our nation and our world (Eph. 3:20-21).
Because we love Jesus we are committed to faithfully following His teaching. We believe that He is the final authority in everything: in worship (Jhn. 4:23-24), in morality (Matt. 5-7), in salvation (Jhn. 8:24; Lk. 13:3; Matt. 28:19-20), in the church (Matt. 16:18), even in our marriages (Matt. 5:31-32). The word that sanctifies us is the word that sustains us as a people; it creates the perimeters by which we can gain and grow a substantive relationship with the Godhead (2 Jhn. 9).
As disciples of Christ, we were purchased by the blood of Jesus through the great grace of our God (Ac. 20:28). Through His sinless sacrifice we were redeemed and justified by the divine transaction at Calvary. We gain access to the benefits of His atoning grace by placing our faith in Him (Jhn. 3:16), repenting of our sins (Lk. 13:3) confessing His majestic name (Rom. 10:9-10) and being baptized for the forgiveness of our sins (Ac. 2:38). Thereby God adds us to His kingdom, His church (Ac. 2:47).
We desperately want others to receive Jesus because we recognize how much we need Him. That desire drives us to spread the gospel of Christ to our families, neighbors, community, and world so that all can partake in the benefits of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen (Rom. 11:36).
